The Perfect Pair of Men’s Jeans
Jeans is the most important item in your wardrobe. It is very versatile because wear jeans around the house, in the workplace, on a date, or on casual outings. Despite this usefulness, however, finding that perfect pair of men’s jeans is never easy.
How to pick the right pair
Think about this: Where will you be wearing them?
The number one rule is to pick one that is very comfortable. No matter how expensive or trendy it is, if you do not feel comfortable in it, then it will not work. If you know where you will be wearing the jeans, it will be easier for you to pick the right pair. Example, if you are allowed to wear denim to work, then pick classic and subtle pairs of jeans that can be worn with dress shoes, sneakers or boots.
Go for Timeless
Original blue jeans: Evolving from rough-and-tumble work wear, these are now one of the most versatile pieces of clothing you can own.
Slightly faded blue jeans: More casual wear than anything else, these can nevertheless look good with a nice sports coat and shirt.
Dark denim: You really can’t go wrong with a pair of straight-leg dark denim. Wear it to the office with a white oxford and navy blazer or throw on a leather jacket for a street-ready look on the weekends.
Flashier colors, funky washes and excessive distressing are always off-limits in terms of timelessness.
Stick with Classic Fits
A good choice is a straight leg or boot cut. When paired with the classic washes mentioned earlier, you’ll be set. Classic jean fits will give you the most bang for your denim buck because you’ll be able to get a lot of versatility out of them. Meanwhile, steer clear of tapered leg openings or a wide bell-bottomed look.
The Right Fit
First, make sure the legs, crotch and waist areas are not too tight. You must also see if they look good from behind. Remember, if you’re not sure, try other styles.
Also, because jeans are likely to shrink, it’s not a good idea to get just the right inseam. Buying them longer than necessary gives you the opportunity to fold them over or make any desired alterations.

The Don’ts of Wearing Sneakers
Hey guys. I know not all of you are very much into fashion and do not even know the difference between loafers and boat shoes. Hey, I dont blame you. You’re the macho kind of guy who does not care about fashion, I know. I’m sure your staple shoes are the sneakers, am I right? You wear it with everything, even with suits, for crying out loud! Sneakers are the kind of shoes that a clueless frat boy would wear to a job interview. This is one mistake you just cannot afford to make if you want to succeed in life.
Im just here to remind you that there are a lot of don’ts when wearing sneakers. I will only take 5 minutes of your time so bare with me. Okay?
First, you need to stick to classic sneakers that is worth every penny. Make sure it is made of materials that will last you a long time. These sneakers are the type that can be worn with anything. These are the basic shoes, low cut, lace up without the colorful designs etc. It is just like the timelessness of a Converse pair that everyone loves so much.
Second, remember that wearing sneakers with no socks will make your feet stink so PLEASE invest on low cut invisible socks. It’s pretty cheap. Remember that socks and sneakers are a match made in heaven so never separate them from each other! Visible ankle socks — or even worse, tube socks — can turn an otherwise mature, cohesive look into something befitting a kindergartner.

Last, you need at least 2 pairs of sneakers. One for gym and one for fashion. Clear? Learn how to separate your running shoes from your casual sneakers. Do not wear your rubber shoes on a date or worse, a job interview. Please!

Shopping Tips for Men
Shopping. Some men can handle it, some cant. As they say, men go to the mall to buy a particular item and just go to that one store and then leave. Women, on the other hand, likes to go window shopping and go to every store and fit everything in it. Men who are always in a hurry to buy something may end up with buyer’s regret because some do not consider the fit, style and construction. Here are some tips you have to remember the next time you go shopping!
1. Fit
A man would look better in a well-fitting pair of jeans and a t-shirt before he would in a sloppy suit. Men who aren’t style conscious tend to wear clothes too big, while men who pay a lot of attention often wear things too small. Proper fitting clothes hit in the right places and give you clean lines, no matter what your movement or position. Shoulder seams should end around the shoulder bone, and clothes shouldn’t be so baggy that they fold, nor be so tight that they pull.
2. Style
Once you find something that fits, however, consider whether the garment has all the design details you’re looking for. If you want something that will last, avoid things that veer too strongly towards one design trend. You may also want to consider how versatile the garment is. Basic blues, greys, and browns will help you build in that versatility, as all those colors are easy to incorporate.
3. Construction
Most clothes are made to last at least a couple of years now. If a jacket is made with skinny lapels, for example, its style will give out much sooner than its cloth. Thus, while I strongly believe people should invest in higher quality purchases, I also think that they should prioritize fit and style above quality. If it doesn’t look good on you or work with the rest of your wardrobe, the quality of its construction will mean very little.

Street Style: Men’s Edition
For many years, we only observe the street style of women. Those who attend fashion shows and those who are just seen in streets walking around. Street style photographers were not even popular back then, it is just recently that these photographers (the Sartorialist, Street Peeper, Tommy Ton etc) are recognized and have become part of every fashion blog and magazine there are. I think it is awesome to see that a lot of men are now conscious about how they dress up and we can all always learn from them, right?
Men has finally discovered that there is more to sport coats and blazers than solid colors and checked patterns. But the feathered blazer in the middle? I think that is a little bit too much. If you can carry it though, then go for it! It is just like how women wear bejeweled and fur heavy jackets, with confidence!
2. Man Bags
I wonder what is inside these big bags? No more backpacks and messenger bags for these stylish men. It is now just as big as women’s purses!
3. Mix of patterns and prints
This has been an ongoing trend for a couple of seasons now both for men’s and women’s fashion. I think it is cute that men are getting very into it. Patterned ties and bowties with patterned suits and blazers? If it looks good, wear it!
4. Colored socks
Colored socks is a nice surprise to see right? Today, colored socks is slowly getting accepted again (even some business men wear it with their black shoes) and it looks good for some. It depends on what you are wearing and where you are going really. When you want to try this trend, make sure not to go overboard with it!
5. Stacked bracelets
Who said only women can wear lots of bracelets and rings? While some men are already happy with a watch on their wrists, a lot are now wearing a lot of accessories. It is nice to see that even men are going with the trend that has been going on in the women’s department for a while now. Soon, these men will start wearing stacked bracelets on both wrists too!

Menswear Ideas for Spring
Coggles has new arrivals just in time for spring and I decided to put together some outfit ideas for the stylish men out there who are already getting ready for the coming season. This season’s trends are very easy and I am sure that you have most of it in your closets already. Shorts and shirts are a staple for summer so make sure you have lots of those. Also, add some boat shoes and other slip on shoes too as wearing sneakers can be a bit tiring already.
I love white. It is so easy in the eyes and it does not attract heat so it is very refreshing. This is a very simple outfit idea for men. A collared white shirt, shorts, a belt, sunglasses and white sneakers. Perfect for hanging out with some friends on a hot summer day.
Now, this outfit is perfect for a summer date night with your loved one or if you are attending an evening event. Open up your white long sleeved shirt and roll it up, wear your favorite denim jeans, add a belt and wear slip on shoes like this brown woven ones like the one I chose. A watch is a must have accessory for every man, and the fedora hat is just optional, in case you’re going to an outdoor day event.
Summer sport coats are very popular this season because it adds a little bit of formality to a very casual look. These are different from the blazers and sport coats because these are lighter and thinner than those. Usually made of light cotton. I paired it up with white pants, roll it up if you’d like, and a yellow striped shirt.
Color blocking is also a big trend this season but not everyone can pull it off. So I chose a subtle way of colorblocking. Peach colored shorts, with a white and blue striped shirt. A navy messenger bag, white loafers and sunglasses would complete your summer look.
Colored pants were seen in a lot of runway shows for spring so I chose a dark orange one to go with a white shirt under a blue sweater. You can either roll up the cuffs of the pants for a more casual look and to show off the boat shoes. The fedora hat is the perfect touch to the outfit.

Mens Fashion Trends for Spring/Summer
The cold winter days are almost over and I know that you are so excited to embrace the heat of summer. The question is, are you fashionably ready for spring/summer? Here are the top trends for menswear this spring/summer:
The colors for this summer is bolder and far from the typical colors that we see in men. Vivid blues, and bold oranges are the top colors for summer. Monochromatic look is to be really hot but combinations of hues (even daring combinations!) will also be welcomed. Safest colors are camel and white. Menswear has returned to its masculinity again as tight and colored pants seem to have found their way out and loose and subtle colors are back.
As for the prints that are trendy this summer, a lot of plaid, check and stripes were seen in most collections so for sure, it will be a huge hit for summer. of course the Hawaiian and floral prints will never go away, just wear they subtly or when on vacation.
The white shirt is a must have for both men and women as it is very versatile and it looks very refreshing. It can look very elegant when worn with a blazer or a coat, and it can look very casual when worn with shorts and sneakers. Wear it loose or with one side tucked in David Beckham’s style with a pair of jeans and you look quite differently yet stylish.

Vintage Rolex Watches
Rolex is every guy’s favorite brand of watch when it comes to vintage shopping. Of course there are lots of other brands that men love but there is just more iconic and timeless Rolex models. This Swiss brand was founded in London by a German named Hans Wilsdorf in the early 1900s. In subsequent decades, Rolex’s connection to high-profile personalities—and world firsts in science and exploration—bolstered the brand’s reputation for innovation and durability.
Rolex makes a small number of models, but they’re all icons. Divided into “sport” and “non-sport” categories, most of them employ the waterproof Oyster case, Rolex’s properitary waterproof design that inspired the entire industry to look at water resistance as a necessary feature of mechanical watch cases. In the sport category, the principal models are the Submariner, Daytona, GMT-Master, Explorer, and Explorer II. In the non-sport category, the key models are the Day-Date and the Datejust.

Mens Fashion Style Commandments
I stumbled upon this article about male styling hints and tips from Guy Style Guide. It may be a little out of date (article was writtin in December 2009) but I think these commandments can still be helpful to all the men now. Let me share with you some of the tips from the article (there are 15 in total) just for your information.
1. Socks and sandals combo
It does not match at all no matter how you think it looks okay or it looks cool. It doesnt. Stay away from this!
2. Sunglasses Indoors
This is another NO NO because why would you want to wear dark sunglasses at night or indoors? Are you trying to look cool? Cos you arent. You look silly.
3. Denim on denim
Britney and Justin did it years ago, see how disgusting it looks? Try to minimize your wear of denim. If you are wearing a denim cap, pair it with a shirt and khaki shorts. Do not over do denim because it will make you look like this Justin and Britney photo.
4. Over “bling-ed”
Are you a rapper? No? then do not wear a lot of bling. Rule of thumb, wear a maximum of 3 pieces of bling at once. Typically it is a watch, wedding ring, and cufflinks or a tie clip.
5. Stay away from clip on ties
You are an adult, by now, you should know be able to know how to tie your own tie. There are lots of how to videos so please, take time to learn how and stay away from clip on ties.
6. Buy suits in pairs
Always always buy a suit in pairs. Trousers and suit jackets need to match especially if you will be wearing it to a business meeting or a formal black tie event. If you buy separately, no matter how close the color is to each other, it will still be very noticeable that it is different.
7. Sneakers and suits
This look is only acceptable if you plan on wearing the suit casually. Wearing sneakers with a suit to work or a formal event is very bad and very inappropriate.

How to Dress for a Job Interview
Job interviews can be scary at times especially if it is for a big prestigious company. It can be intimidating and one must always be prepared for the Q&A and that you look well prepared for the interview. Here is a quick illustration of what you need to do to prepare for your job interview via Art of Manliness.
Got it? It is quite easy, just make sure you look polished and well groomed. Now, when it comes to dressing up and choosing a suit, here are some tips:
1. Always choose a suit and a dress shirt that fits you perfectly.
2. Match your tie with your shirt. Go back to the color wheel and remember that the opposite colors match and also the colors that are beside each other.
3. Choose the right shoes that goes with your suit. Here is a quick guide:
4. As for the socks, choose ones that is the same color as your shoes. If you are into the colored and patterened socks trend, choose one that is very subtle when going to an interview. Save the colored ones for another fun occasion.
5. Wearing jewelry is not advisable so do not wear nose rings, earrings, and class rings at the interview especially when it is a formal one. Stick to your favorite watch and maybe put on some cufflinks so you will look very dapper.
