Men’s How To: The Great Fitting Suit
EVERY man should own at least one or two suits that fit perfectly well. Some may have a hard time buying the best suit while others do not want to spend money on it. It is always better to invest in quality as a perfectly fit suit can last you a long time and well, you would want to look very manly and dapper. Lucky for you, I stumbled upon this Esquire article about suit buying tips and let me summarize it for you!
1. Shoulder pads end with your shoulders.
2. Your flat hand should slip easily into your suit under the lapels when the top (or middle) button is fastened. If you put a fist in, the suit should pull at the button.
3. The top button of a two-button suit — or the middle button of a three-button suit — should not fall below your navel.
4. With your arms at your sides, your knuckles should be even with the bottom of your jacket.
5. Jacket sleeves should fall where the base of your thumb meets your wrist.
6. Between a quarter and a half inch of shirt cuff should be visible.
7. One inch of break.
Fabric: Suits are made of wool. Mostly. At the upper end, you see wool blended with cashmere. You might even see 100 percent cashmere. For hot weather, linen and cotton and silk are available, but most suits are still made of wool. Stick with that.
Strength: Take a bunch of the cloth and squeeze it. Does it bounce back to life quickly, with little to no visible wrinkling? Does it feel like there’s something to it, some structure — what tailors call “guts”? That’s a good sign.

Alexander McQueen Spring 2013 Menswear Lookbook
Alexander McQueen is known for its theatrical aesthetic (especially with womenswear) and the spring 2013 menswear collection had a lot of drama with modern themes.
“Designer Sarah Burton was inspired by nineteenth-century portraits from Vanity Fair – portraits that spanned the social spectrum of boys to noblemen – and the fact is evidenced in everything from the cropped britches (worn atop long socks) to the coats thrown back like tails. ”
The collection featured tailored pieces with architectural inspirations and the color scheme was very neutraly with grays, blacks and whites with a touch of some color.

For Men: How to Pack for the Weekend
Men have it easy when it comes to packing for a 2 day getaway unlike women who makes it seem like an impossible task. You would think that men only need a couple of shirts, underwear and a pair of jeans and they would be good to go but it is all wrong. There are a lot more essentials that you may have to bring just in case something comes up. Here is a quick checklist on what to bring for that last summer getaway.
1.
First, you need the right bag. Leather bags are very stylish and good but they can be very heavy. Opt for a canvas bag, they are just as tough and it can expand so you can pack a lot more.
2.
Always pack two pairs of jeans. You will never know when you might need an extra one! You can go for a regular denim jeans that are blue and a black one just in case you want to go out at night.
3.
Choose shirts with fabrics that look okay when wrinkled. You might not have a iron in the hotel or wherever you are staying so it would be easier if your shirts look better when wrinkled. Oxford cloth is the perfect choice for this.
4.
Bring one pair of shorts. You might need one if the weather is very hot. Chinos are very good and comfortable and you can pick a color that is either very neutral or very loud.
5.

Men’s Fashion: The Art of Pattern Mixing
Pattern mixing is one of the unexpected trends that really pops out lately. Some think it is very tacky and too busy while others love it. It is actually a very good trend if you know how to do it and if you know how to wear it. If you are new to this menswear game, you will first need a lot of confidence to move out of your comfort zone. You have to experiment a bit with your own personal style and then you can add the trend and mix it in. Here’s a quick guideline on how you can mix patterns:
Use the Same Pattern
Firstly, if you are new to mixing patterns then simply keep things in the same pattern. For example, stripes on stripes or checks on checks. The key here is to make sure that with each new pattern that you add to the look, the width or size of the pattern is different to what has gone before.
Keep Things Monochromatic
The simplest way to pull off the mixed pattern look is to stay within the same colour family.
However, this does work better if you’re trying to incorporate different patterns such as stripes and checks. By using patterns that are different hues of the same colour, it can create a very subtle look while still showing that you have a daring side. It’s a good idea to vary the pattern sizes, but not completely necessary in this case.
Just Mix it Up and Experiment
No need to go matchy-matchy this time! THis is more for the advanced men. Use colours that complement each other, rather than in the same family, like a pink striped shirt with a navy check sports jacket. This season is going to be about expressing yourself and seeing just how much you can get away with whilst still looking put together and stylish.

The Dark Knight Rises Jaeger-LeCoultre Watch
Huge Batman fan? Here is another collectible you may want to add to your collection. In the movie, Bruce Wayne (played by Christian Bale) wears a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Grande Date. As an homage to this detail, Jaeger-LeCoultre has released a limited edition version of the Reverso Ultra Thin Tribute to 1931 watch. Pretty sweet, huh? The rear of the flippable steel case features an engraved and lacquered The Dark Knight Rises logo, while the front is an art-deco looking black dial. They should be available at Jaeger-LeCoultre stores in Los Angeles, London, Geneva, and Hong Kong.
