Photo Casebook: Ben Morse

Photo Casebook is a simple game for photography lovers and casual browsers of the art form where we ask snappers to answer a scenario-based question with their own photos…

So, North Korean dictator Kim Jong-il has succeeded in taking over the world and is about to impose a worldwide ban on photos. Your camera will be confiscated unless you can justify its use for anything other than taking lovely pictures of the Dear Leader (as above).

Photographer: Ben Morse

This was literally a 'point and click' moment on the coast of Hawaii - photography should be about capturing a moment. That moment is even better if it can be brought to people who won't get the chance to see it themselves. Plus, y'know, it's beautiful and calming and all of that.

Another 'right place, right time' moment, showing the unifying power of music. I don't believe in many things, but music having the power to unite and to uplift is definitely one of them.

This guy is training in Parkour, and had spent the morning unsuccessfully scaling a wall with his bare hands. He'd taped them after they started bleeding, and then kept going. And he honestly didn't care. These guys train armies - I've never met people so committed and passionate about what they do - it was a total pleasure watching them.
